About the MSD Legal Group
MSD Legal provides legal services to all units across the Ministry, we work in areas of public law, commercial contracting, litigation, te tiriti and strategic projects.
The MSD Legal group is undergoing a change in focus with a new Chief Legal Advisor - looking to the future needs of MSD, working strategically and refreshing our relationships across the organisation.

About the Role
MSD Legal Team Manager :
This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Legal Advisor and is part of a collaborative and collegial national senior management team.
Leadership is the primary focus of this role - both within MSD Legal and across MSD
Working in a team of 8 Team Managers, each Team Manager leads a team to support a specific area of focus to support the aspirations of MSD to support New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent.
This Team Manager’s focus is support for the corporate and commercial needs of MSD, ensuring that the business and organisational support of MSD is well supported from a legal perspective.
Working with senior leaders in MSD national office, this role is responsible for supporting the Ministry across contracts, procurement, health and safety, employment and governance.
This role is for the ultimate all-rounder who enjoys variety and comes with a trusted background working inhouse.
Our team managers are great leaders and highly experienced lawyers who love to get things done. To thrive in this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator, problem solver, eager to grow and develop staff, exercise sound judgement, and be a committed team player.
