Child and Adolescent Mental Health
Social Worker or Nurse for both roles)
Palmerston North
To comply with the current Health Order MidCentral DHB requires ALL its employees to be fully vaccinated (and boosted as applicable) against COVID-19.
We will not accept applications that do not meet this criteria.
MidCentral District Health Board actively seeks Māori into our workforce to reflect the community we serve. If you are looking for a challenge, then look no further! We have 2 incredibly exciting opportunities available for practitioners with CAMHS experience.
Firstly , our Duty crisis role. One of a team of 4 (alongside the new role of brief intervention worker) will work at the front end of CAFS ensuring children, young people and their families get a smooth and supportive introduction into our service and compassionate and appropriate care when experiencing a mental health crisis.
For this role we require someone preferably with experience in CAFS, but with experience in mental health and crisis work.
Someone who can engage people and make people feel at ease in their presence. Secondly , a brand new role (to us) the Brief, Intensive Intervention Worker will work with young people and their families after a suicide attempt to ensure the young person and family have the support they need to regain their power and get back to normal for them.
For this role we need someone with previous CAFS experience, someone who is fearless in the face of challenge and a strong advocate for their young people and a bit of a people collector (In that they shine when meeting and engaging people).
For both roles we need someone who can work autonomously and is a team player, who is flexible, strong in who they are and willing to share and to learn along the way.
Sense of humour an absolute must and the ability to enjoy our team. In return we can offer :
Palmerston North has access to wonderfully wild beaches (25 mins away) an incredibly friendly population and because of the university and Military bases a diverse and energetic city scene.
