Te āhuatunga a te tūranga / About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Principal Advisor to work in the Criminal Resolutions team within Provider and Community Services.

This team is responsible for contract management, procurement and projects across Restorative Justice and Family Justice services.

The Principal Advisor will be responsible for overseeing some of the operational, day to day functions of the team, as well as being responsible for :

  • Developing and supporting staff to build their capability and confidence in their work;
  • Supporting the manager to ensure strategic objectives are met;
  • Working across, and leading the team through, all projects, contract management and procurement activities.

    He pūkenga tou / Skills and Experience

    To be successful in the role you will bring the following :

  • Previous experience as a Principal Advisor, or equivalent level;
  • Knowledge of the social sector, particularly the services that the Ministry of Justice contracts;
  • Strong procurement and project management skills;
  • Excellent verbal and plain english writing skills;
  • Experience presenting at different forums i.e. across agencies or with providers;
  • Ability to work with complexity / ambiguity; and
  • Takes pride in producing high quality work.
