THE POSITIONThis role will be part of the Medical Affairs Matrix organization in Australia. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager and working in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area, this Medical Manager will provide scientific guidance and strategic medical leadership and execution of medical activities, to drive the business and ensure the right patients can take advantage of BI products through appropriate internal and external collaboration.
The role will also provide scientific information and develop professional relationships with targeted external experts (EE's), health care professionals (HCP's) and other key stakeholders through the provision of appropriate clinical information, and meet the research and medical / scientific educational needs of EE's and HCP's in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
Tasks & Responsibilities : Provide information and medical and scientific advice and expertise to internal and external stakeholders, in order to ensure medical affairs objectives are realised and Boehringer Ingelheim’s image is well supported in the market place whilst maintaining ethics and company standards.
Lead the medical strategy and develop the medical contents of the integrated medical brand / customer plan for assigned products, in alignment with insights from internal and external stakeholders, and ensure its execution.
Identification and mapping of key external experts (EE), healthcare administrators, scientific networks and where appropriate health consumer organisations.
Proactively supports the activity of the Sales and Marketing Department, ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of promotional material according to local legislation and codices in order to manage and minimise potential risk related to the reputation of BI.
MBBS / MBChB / PhD / BPharm / MastersAt least 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry medical affairs roles, and / or 5+ years clinical / hospital / pharmacy experienceNew Zealand pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulatory / reimbursement framework (Medsafe, Pharmac) and clinical research principles & guidelines (e.
building long-term relationship with EEs, physicians and patient associations; the analysis and interpretation of complex medical data, operating in cross-functional team and collaborating effectiveness.
