About the role

As part of our Financial Crime Team you will play a key function in overseeing and supporting assurance activities across the Bank and being a go-to person for advice on financial crime issues.

You'll be responsible for ongoing support and development of the Bank’s AML / CFT risk and compliance frameworks, and co-ordinate complex fraud and financial crime projects.

Having clear, effective communication is key as you’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and provide accurate advice to our front line staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain the financial crime policy framework, procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to, co-ordinate and lead complex fraud and financial crime activities as required.
  • Provide clear communication to relevant stakeholders, business units, including the wider Risk team, and front line staff.
  • Conduct assurance in line with annual plans.
  • Maintain the Bank’s relationship with NZBA Fraud Security Group and the anti-fraud community.
  • Ensure the Bank is well educated in financial crime to mitigate risks, including timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
  • You’ll bring the following experience to the table :

  • Minimum 3 years’ industry experience in anti-money laundering.
  • Experience with fraud practices is highly desirable.
  • Banking or Financial industry experience is highly desirable.
  • A financial crime specific qualification is an advantage for this position.
  • Good communication skills - written and oral
