The Role - Emergency Services Manager / Fire Chief
This is an exciting position for a hands-on Manager to lead and support a shift based Emergency Services team while filling the role of Principle Officer for an Industrial Fire Brigade.
You will manage five full time direct reports and lead, administer and train a team of volunteer fire fighters. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of emergency preparedness and emergency response capabilities on a large industrial site.
You will pro-actively manage the performance of your teams and will be committed to ongoing improvement through auditing and training.
You will coordinate the development and delivery of emergency preparedness and response initiatives, as well as make recommendations for improvement in your regular reporting.
The role will ideally suit someone with an Emergency Services background, preferably with extensive experience in Fire Service Leadership.
You will have experience in managing and motivating a small team to achieve targets, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships throughout all levels of an organisation.
You will regularly liaise with the New Zealand Fire Service.
