One of PNCCs key strategies is to promote active transport within the city. We need you to help us with developing a more integrated transport network that more efficiently moves people around the city by providing for other active transport modes!

As the Activity Manager Active Transport, you’ll be the sponsor and asset owner of all active transport assets in Palmerston North.

In this key role, you will work closely with the Activity Manager Transport to develop an integrated transport network that effectively prioritises alternative transport modes such as walking, cycling, e-

vehicles and public transport based on principles of Movement and Place. You’ll be involved in activity planning, strategy and programme development as well as day to day management of the activity.

This is your chance to influence a significant area of Council activities - you’ll be expected to a long-term strategic view, identifying opportunities and threats around the transport wastewater activity, developing mitigation strategies and advancing investigation and scoping work to develop forward programmes of work.

Your experience and qualifications will enable you to effectively collaborate with the project delivery team to deliver the capital works programmes as well as look after day to day to operation of the assets.

To be truly valuable in this role, you’ll be a skilled communicator able to prepare high quality strategic and planning documentation as well as interact effectively with a wide range of people in a professional and effective manner.

You will have a high degree of self-management and time management. As a strategic thinker you will also be able to develop new and improved processes, systems, and procedures.
