Job Description

This role is two-fold. Sitting within the Insights, Data & Services Chapter (and reporting into the respective Chapter Area Lead), your time will be split between the development and execution of analytics based programs of work and people management.

Allocated to a squad, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to deliver outcomes identified as part of the Quarterly Business Review process for each squad.

We will rely on your statistical and analytics expertise to identify performance drivers and measure the impact of interventions.

Your ability to tell stories through data will be key to your success. You will leverage one of the richest customer and sales data sets in New Zealand to create compelling, impactful and actionable recommendations.

Partnering with key stakeholders you will work to improve the organisations analytics capability through the development of toolkits and training.

The people management aspects will see you facilitate capability growth, consistency and allocation of resources within your chapter (circa x9 Chapter Members).

This is where you will draw on your coaching skillset by tuning into the team, empowering them and leading by example.


You'll have a love for data and storytelling - you're the type of person who gets excited about huge and unique data sets without losing sight of the business context.

Your proven ability to translate business needs and customer problems into analytics solutions will be key. Driving programs of work which meet customer needs and influence positive customer and commercial outcomes will sum up success.

Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will put you in good stead, as this role will see you work cross functionally with a range of internal stakeholders at all levels.

Equally important is your ability to develop, empower and nurture your team to drive engagement and best practice. Your passion and drive to share knowledge and raise the bar will be infectious.

Living and breathing Agile attributes such as servant leadership, collaboration and a growth mindset will come naturally to you.

Our wish list also includes :

  • 8 years+ experience in an analytics capacity, with proven ability to influence across organisations
  • Preferably hold a degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics,applied mathematics etc
  • Experience with technical and analytics tools - SQL, Oracle, SPSS, SAS, R, python.
  • An understanding of the full analytics project lifecycle - from consultation and project scoping through to the delivery and communication of recommendations.
  • An appetite for test and learn / experimentation
  • Previous people management experience
