Public Health Physician / Clinical Director Dunedin
Here at Southern DHB we are building on a progressive and forward thinking approach to our Public Health Service and this is your chance for you to be involved in a modern integrated approach to Public health.
We are currently interested in hearing from you if you are an experienced Public Health Physician looking for a clinical role, and have an interest and appetite for contributing to the provision of clinical leadership to the service.
You’ll have the opportunity to be involved in creating an exciting future by building the service to use Health in all Policies and work collaboratively with our partners, as well as supporting community action to build healthy communities where we live, learn, work and play.
As Clinical Director, you’ll ensure a public health perspective to the medical leadership of the DHB. Contributing to the wider health sector you’ll be able to contribute to the leadership of public health regionally and nationally through South Island Public Health Partnership and the National Public Health Clinical Network.
Clinically you ll be able to balance a sound approach to responding to health protection issues and communicable disease control with the ability to provide leadership to work on a broad range of issues that impact on health.
You’ll bring your experience and skills in building productive relationships with partners, understanding communities’ needs, developing teams and innovative population-

It is imperative you have an interest in quality improvement and evaluation and the ability to demonstrate the impact and outcomes of our work.
You will already have, or be able to eligible to gain vocational registration in public health medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Candidates who are not currently registered with the New Zealand Medical Council should be aware that from 1 November 2017 it will be the requirement of the NZ Medical Council that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.
If you have a commitment to working in New Zealand it is highly recommended that you start this process as soon as possible so as to allow your subsequent registration to be undertaken in a timely fashion.
