ANL is part of world renowned CMA CGM Shipping Group, which ranks 3rd in the world. In New Zealand, ANL operates a separate front office activity for all marketing, sales and customer services activity and is supported by a shared back office agency CMA CGM Group Agencies New Zealand (CCGANZ),with centralised services in Auckland.

An excellent opportunity has become available in the ANL Sales department in Auckland. Reporting to the National Sales & Marketing Manager, the principal responsibility of this position is to ensure effective implementation of services offered to clients that will achieve predetermined targets and budgets for Import and Export Sales and undertake a proactive role in the development of Inside Sales Coordinators with regular training.

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will be

  • To support the external sales team to achieve the targeted market coverage expectation of 10 strong direct sales calls per week and to supplement this sales activity with telemarketing / inside sales calls and customer follow up.
  • To maintain a record of all freight rate components and all commodities; and shipper by trade rate history; and to ensure all ongoing pricing enquiry is indexed to and benchmarked against this data;
  • and when submitted it reflects a consistent commercial approach relative to the market of the day.

  • To ensure that when all bookings are received by the customer services team that a clearly identifiable valid SQ reference is in the system ready for processing.
  • To create and maintain up to date sales tool kits for all sectors / ANL services.
  • Coordinate the ANZEX / KIX southbound sales activity to ensure the southbound lifting aspirations are matched by the NZ sales and inquiry activity for FOB nominated cargoes.
  • Drive a high performing Inside Sales team
  • Weekly Inside Sales meetings followed by minutes
  • Staff coaching & training plan for new staff
  • Ensure that the commercial interests of ANL are held as highest priority.
  • Ensure sales support tools are kept up to date and distributed among team members; SQ list, ancillary comparison etc.
  • Monitor unfreighted bills to ensure all bookings have rates applied prior to vessel sailing
  • To handle external service and pricing enquiries for all trades
  • To be successful in this role, you MUST have -

  • New Zealand citizenship / permanent residence.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the shipping industry.
  • Experience in leading a team (preferable).
  • Customer orientated approach.
  • Strong sales technique.
  • Proven track record in setting and meeting budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and priorities and work within team environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and in a pressurized environment.
