The Day in the Life of a '

A vital role, our Youth Leaders help to develop young people through teaching skills, providing challenges and overseeing the delivery of our programmes.

Our Youth Leaders make a huge difference to our youth by acting as a coach and mentor for various aspects of their life, such as helping map a future career or setting personal goals.

Due to the variety in our programmes, there is an assortment of roles and ways our leaders are involved.

A bit about responsibilities :

  • Assist with the term and weekly division programme including the Grand Prior's Award Programme planning and delivery;
  • General administration, developing newsletters, consent forms etc;
  • Encourage maximum participation in district and regional activities;
  • Ensure all activities are safe yet loaded with fun and adventure for all participants, whilst taking care to ensure they are in line with St John policy
  • Attributes / Skills required :

  • A team player who can adapt to the demands of young people and adults;
  • An aptitude for working with a diversity of cultures;
  • You will need to be able to contribute to an average of 3 hours per week and attend overnight camps from time to time;
  • A proven ability to communicate and relate with adults and children of all ages;
  • General computer skills.

    We are looking for people that know how to have fun and are able to build and maintain strong relationships with members and their families.
