We are looking for a Manufacturing Technician required to assist in production at the Protein Separations Unit. In this role you will;
Take full responsibility for the manufacture of products as delegated by the Production Team Leader and Production Supervisor.
Be trained over a period of time in a number of protein separation and purification processes, taking full responsibility of the task when confident and working as a team to get all manufacturing tasks done each day.
Carry out duties as requested, including training team members when practical.
Key Responsibilities : Production
Complete all Production tasks as scheduled on a daily and weekly basis.
Report to the Team Leader / Production Supervisor any production related problems.
Record manufacturing processes in real time and neatly, in batch manufacturing records
Perform all work using the appropriate SOP, batch sheet, etc.so that the same standards are followed by everyone.
Ensure plant hygiene and housekeeping is always maintained.
Work as a member of the team ensuring you get your work done and help others.
Update Batch Sheets and SOP’s pertaining to existing processes.
Technical Transfer / Process Improvements
Assist with special projects as required.
Participate in appropriate meetings and discussions as required.
All other reasonable tasks as may be requested by the Team Leader and / or the Production Supervisor.
Able to start as early as 5am Mon Fri and be flexible with occasional overtime. Usual hours per week are 40 hours.
Experience working in a production environment, especially food, milk processing or related to biotechnology is preferred.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
Academic qualifications - NCEA Level Two, or Sixth Form Certificate, with some science and mathematics related subjects, or a tertiary qualification preferably in science is preferred.
Natural communicator, both written and oral
Accurate, with proven attention to detail
Safety minded in work practices
Technical and mechanical aptitude
Have basic computer skills.
Be able to be standing and moving all day with lifting up to 20Kg as required.
Knowledge of general protein separation techniques
Experience working in cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) environments
Knowledge of computer applications and current software is desirable. General understanding of machinery and mechanics is advantageous
