    There is no better time to join our People and Leadership team, we are shifting the way we work, building our People Strategy and workforce plans, delivering a new HRIS and payroll system and looking at ways to build our organisational culture and capability.

    We are seeking a Chief Advisor who has proven HR and business acumen and an ability to build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

    Your experience working within complex organisations to find pragmatic solutions and influence organisational and people outcomes will be essential.

    We are looking for someone who can deliver strategic guidance on our people frameworks and strategies and fully utilise their experience in coaching and influencing to help our leaders navigate complex people related challenges.

    Additionally, you will provide guidance and support to our People and Leadership team, unions and other key stakeholders across the Ministry.

    Key requirements of the role include :

  • Strong HR generalist with strategic planning and HR management skills
  • Ability to engage, story tell and influence utilising people (organisational) data and metrics
  • Expert HR advisory skills at a senior level
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to write clear and effective board papers and reports
  • Team player with an ability to develop collaborative and effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
