    The Canterbury Eye Service at Christchurch Hospitalis seeking a registered nurse. The Eye Clinic is a very busy and demandingservice that is staffed by a dedicated team of Nurses, Orthoptists,Optometrists and Technicians who work closely with our highly skilled andspecialised Ophthalmologists to meet the eye health needs of the people ofCanterbury.

    As a nurse in the eye clinic, you’ll be responsiblefor undertaking ophthalmic acuity assessments and providing patient educationprior to eye surgery and education regarding ongoing management of theircondition.

    Therefore, experience in Ophthalmology is desirable, however acomprehensive orientation will also be provided to the successful applicant.

    As nursing roles extend, a registered nurse withthe desire to extend their clinical practice and work within a specialised areawould be welcomed.

    Your excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to workpositively and flexibly in a team environment is essential within this role.

    The Eye Clinic hours are currently 7 : 30 am to 6 : 30pm Monday to Friday, soshifts will be within these hours.
