At Disability Support Services (DSS) we support people with disabilities to live great lives that reflect theirpersonal aspirations and choices.
DSS provides support to over 250 people in avariety of residential settings across the Nelson / Tasman and Marlboroughregions.
In residential and work environments we support each person to manage their day to daylives in ways and at times that work for them.
some need support to participate in their localcommunities and some need communication and behavioural support. We alsowork to provide family / whanau time to re-energise and spend time with otherimportant people, while their child stays in one of our respite houses.
We actively encourage people to pursue theirdreams and try out new experiences, and can guarantee that no two days workingat DSS are ever the same.
We alsowork collaboratively and in partnership with Mental Health, Youth Justice,Addictions and Oranga Tamariki to meet the needs of people we support.

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana kitēnei mahi (About this position)
We are looking to appoint anon-roster Team Leader to supervise and lead support workers in a residential homefor people with disabilities.
You will be an integral part of the team, providingsupport and leadership, as well as pro-activeday-to-day support to enable the people you support to live safely and beactively involved in their community.
Your hours of work will be 7.00AMto 3.30PM working Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work someafternoons or weekends in agreement with your manager.

You will have inspiring leadership skills and astrong commitment to the principles of person-centred support. You will alsohold a certificate in Human Services, or an equivalent health or disabilityrelated qualification, and will have a sound knowledge of Person Centred supportas well as good time management skills.
Experience working in the field ofdisability would be advantageous.
