We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer, you are a natural leader and you will actively contribute to joining up the Northern Region's data and information systems by leveraging the shared services model .

You will work within an Agile Scrum delivery team with the responsibility for data modelling, ETL development, creating and maintaining models within the data warehouse, report & dashboard design & development ensuring high levels of data quality and high performance in the processes and in the availability of data / information.

What you can expect

  • Be a trusted technical advisor to other developers and lead the development / engineering team in curation and application of consistent development & coding standards, best practices and methods
  • Assist with definition and shaping of work items by utilising you demonstrable technical skills, experience and passion for data
  • You are a natural leader, enjoy innovation and inspiring other developers in their pursuit of continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Act as a trusted advisor for information & knowledge management team members, and other hA technical staff in all areas of business intelligence solution implementation
  • Provide training and knowledge sharing opportunities to other business intelligence developers
  • Be a standard bearer for the achievement of quality and high performance in software configuration and development, and the constant identification, reduction, & resolution of technical debt within products
  • Design and build multi-dimensional data models / star schemas using data modelling principles that adhere to Kimball's data warehouse architecture
  • ETL / ELT development and maintenance as required applying robust ETL / ELT processes
  • Report & dashboard development work
  • Continuous improvement of the data warehousing environment
  • Diagnose and resolve data warehouse access and performance issues
  • Perform data warehouse configuration and performance tuning
  • What we need to see from you

  • Previous experience and the want to lead a team
  • 6 years' + PL / SQL programming and / or stored procedure development (SQL 2016 / 2019 etc)
  • 6 years' + ETL Development with an enterprise ETL tool
  • Working with / building Dimensional Models / Star Schemas
  • Data Warehouse development experience, with some Command line interfaces - Windows CLI, PowerShell etc.
  • Sold knowledge or good understanding of Business Intelligence Tools and Cube Technologies (e.g. : PowerBI, MS SQL Reporting & Analysis Services, OBIEE)
  • Experience implementing Kimball and / or Inmon methodologies (preferred)
  • Any source control tool (e.g. : BitBucket, Git, Visual Source Safe, CVS, Subversion, etc.)
  • Experience with Data Warehouse migration tools such as SQL Server 2016 / 2019, Kimball architecture, Azure Synapse, Snowflake
  • And experience with data driven design tools such as ERWin, ERStudio, Wherescape
