At Manukau Institute of Technology's (MIT) Technology Services team, you can display your skills across multiple technology stacks where it's not all about firefighting.

Be part of MIT's technology transformation and experience a vast range of systems and varied projects.

What you will be doing :

  • Assist in the design, build and maintenance of a highly reliable infrastructure environment
  • Provide required 2nd & 3rd level support for systems and software
  • Assist in the implementation of technical projects for MIT
  • Be part of regular system failover tests
  • Provide regular system usage reports to assist with capacity planning
  • Maintain accurate documentation for Technology systems and processes

    A measure of your success will be your team membership and agility along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate a keen eye for detail whilst multi- tasking and trouble shooting.

    To be successful you will need :

  • Sound knowledge and experience in client and server operating systems, mainly Microsoft based Operating Systems including maintain, build, upgrade and patch
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft SCCM
  • Deep knowledge of Citrix
  • Microsoft 365 hands on experience
  • Clear understanding of Exchange online
  • Hands on experience with Application Virtualizations and Scripting
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Servers (DNS, DHCP)
  • Deep knowledge of Antivirus (end point protection)
  • Clear understanding of SharePoint Online and Document Libraries
  • Clear understanding of ITSM and ITIL structure
  • No two days are the same so agility is a must to meet the various changing needs of the business. A relevant tertiary qualification or a professional certification in Information Technology is a must and preference will be given to applicants with an ITIL or similar certification, as well as experience in the tertiary and / or education sector.

    Non negotiables are the ability to discuss computing issues in layman's terms using fluent spoken and written English and a willingness to learn, you will need a full driver's licence to support our multi campuses.
