At Spectrum Care we believe that every person with a disability deserves a life of freedom, choice and independence. We are one of the largest providers of services for people who live with disability across the North Island, and have a range of services available on Waiheke Island.

Our Flexible Disability Supports service provides support to people and their families / whanau to achieve a quality of lifestyle of their own choice.

This role could include work across all shifts (during the daytime, afternoons, overnight, weekends and school holidays).

Our School Holiday Programme is all about facilitating fun and meaningful activities, in a safe and positive environment.

You will work as part of a team, dedicated to creating and maintaining a secure and healthy space where children with a disability can spend time in the holidays.

These are fixed term contracts of a variety of shifts over the primary school term holidays.

Our Home Support service provides individual support to young people and adults within their family homes and out in the community.

Working 1 : 1, you would support them to build life skills, achieve personal goals and develop community networks and integration.

These roles are generally comprised of part-time hours.

The ideal candidate will have :

  • A Full Driver's Licence
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities and / or challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to building long lasting, reliable relationships with the people you support and their families
  • Sufficient fitness for an active role that may involve sports and recreational activities
  • The ability to use technology effectively to communicate with the team, and to help the people we support connect with their communities and interests
