The role

We have an opportunity to join our Marine team on a casual basis. To be considered you must have the flexibility to work on an as and when required 'on-call' basis within a 24 hour / 7 days a week shift structure.

We have a range of duties that may be covered by the role, but we are specifically seeking someone who is available on a casual basis to support our team of Lines Supervisors.

Full training will be provided, including the potential for training in other duties at a later time. While not critical, consideration will be given to candidates who have prior experience in Marine operations, or who hold or are working towards a relevant Marine qualifications e.

g. Skipper Restricted Limits certificate (SRL).

In support of our Lines Supervisors Team, your duties will initially include overseeing and assisting in the safe mooring of ships, and a variety of other marine related duties including the delivery of water, telephone and other arrival information to ships.

About you

We are looking for someone with calm, professional and solutions oriented approach, who will contribute to a positive customer focused culture.

Working as an integral part of a small team you will need to :

  • Be reliable, flexible and energetic.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and be a positive team player.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Ideally ship mooring supervision or lines handling experience.
  • Hold a Maritime VHF Radio Operator Certificate, and ideally have radio communication experience.
  • Maintain a good level of physical fitness, ability to lift and move heavy items, move around confined spaces and manage variable conditions associated with weather and sea conditions, as well as ability to interpret distances.
