Auckland City, AucklandThe Auckland System Management (ASM) AllianceHEB Construction is seeking reliable and motivated Incident Responders to join the Temporary Traffic Management Team based in Central Auckland.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that the ASM keeps road users moving safely through the Auckland State Highway network in the event of an incident.
Incidents range from significant crashes, asset damage and vehicle breakdowns to weather events such as flooding.Reactive in nature, Incident response requires responders to act quickly to assess a situation and implement the appropriate emergency controls in an efficient and timely manner.
Teamwork and collaboration with the Traffic Management Team is imperative for the success of this role.Incident response tasks and duties may include but are not limited to : Responding to all incidents within the response times specifiedProtecting road users by making the road and adjacent area safe to all road usersUndertaking emergency patrols as required and / or in response to a request by the EngineerUndertaking repair work to re-establish safe access for all normal road users to at least single lane status, unless instructed otherwise by the EngineerGeneral road maintenance when not responding to incidentsIdeal applicants will : Be physically fit and able to keep up with the physical demands of the roleHave a minimum of a STMS L1 qualificationHave a minimum of a class 2 full drivers licenceHave a strong work ethic and a "can do" attitudePossess the ability to remain calm under pressureThese positions are permanent, full time roles working a four day on four day off roster.
The hours of work will be 12 hours per rostered shift. Dayshift and nightshift positions are available. Dayshift hours are generally between 5.
