About the roleReporting to the Operations and Support Chapter Lead, you will get to work alongside a dedicated technical operation services group providing first-class services to our customers using a range of technologies.
To achieve our goals with a strong focus on Cisco solutions including firewalls, routing & switching, UCS, wireless, voice and security.
The Service Engineer is expected to provide exceptional levels of service and assistance to rectify and solve issues as they are reported.
With a focus on Cisco solutions including firewalls, routing / switching, UCS, wireless, voice and security, this support will be provided via phone and email support, remote access support and most importantly face to face for direct contact support.

Some of your responsibilities will see you : Assist in planning and design of the Woolworths New Zealand’s network architecture, under the direction of the Enterprise Network Architect.
Support of network solutions (Wireless, Routing, Switching, Data Cabling)Monitor and analyse network performance across Woolworths New Zealand’s campus (Stores, Distribution Centres & Support Offices) and data centre deployments.
Work with our network provider to ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of Woolworths New Zealand networks.
Work with our network provider to monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks via our network provider.Ensure our network provider adheres to standard practice when installing and configuring network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, bridging links, UPSs etc.
Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, servers, and back-end office infrastructure. Maintain operational configurations of all in-place security solutions as per the established baselines.
Ensure network provider adheres to network patch management cycleAbout youThis role requires a highly customer-oriented individual with strong technical skills and collaborative nature.
We need someone who will embrace change and who will also challenge the status quo.To be considered, your experience will likely reflect : Previous working experience as a Network Engineer for 3 - 5 year(s)Relevant degree qualification or equivalentCisco certification(s) e.
g. CCNA / CCNPIn-depth knowledge of TCP / IP and WAN routing & switching protocols.Cloud-based networking experience preferred (e.
g. Cisco DNAC, SD-WAN, Azure Cloud Network)Knowledge of Cisco technologies, network design and implementationStrong customer-facing skills, business acumen and integrity.
A collaborative style, able to work with and assist local, national teams and external support partners and vendors.Ability to keep up to date with new technology trends.
Hands-on experience with equipment from Cisco & Dell EMCExcellent organisational and time management skillsAnalytical, data-driven problem solverIT Service Operations (eg.
