    Mō te tūnga About the roleThe Principal Advisor / Kaitohutohu Mātāmua Maori Capability is a key role in the People and Capability (P&C) Leadership team.

    You will work in close partnership with the P&C leadership team to provide advice and thought leadership to support MfE's strategic approach to people initiatives drawing on Te Ao Māori.

    This role is funded until 30 June 2023.Working in collaboration with senior leaders and the wider P&C team you will develop and deliver group wide strategies, frameworks and systems that drive and enable people culture, engagement, capability and performance.

    You'll support and influence the wider P&C team to drive our work programme and ensure that we are delivering on Tangata Ora - Our People Strategy and the required shifts we need to make.

    You'll provide advice to P&C leadership team on ways to embed Te Ao Māori into our people practices. This will require recognising when we need to take immediate action and when to take a more deliberate and longer term view of practices, all within the current constraints of employment legislation and precedents.

    As we build our Te Ao Māori capability, experience and expertise, the Principal Advisor will provide coaching, mentoring and quality improvement advice across a one MfE' P&C team.

    You will have proven experience in leading through influence and providing strategic people advice along with a track history of delivering innovative and agile people solutions.

    We are looking for your experience lifting the capability of others in appropriately Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori into people practice and your commitment to working in a way that enhances the mana of others, naturally building whanaungatanga and demonstrating manaaki.

    We will value your strong interpersonal and relationship management capability and your experience working effectively at CE and Executive Leadership team level.

    Salary range for this role is $155,401 - $190,044. Appointment within these ranges will be based on skills and experience.
