    AboutThe Role

    The Assistant Category and Insights Manager is a newlycreated role and will be an integral addition to the Category function,supporting the Category & Insights Manager.

    You will assist with all aspects of category management and insightsdevelopment for internal and external stakeholders across all categories andchannels, as well as ensuring delivery of an effective sales and marketing planningand activation process.

    This role will play an important part in the process ofanalysing large data sets and translating findings into meaningful insights andactionable recommendations that support the Category, Marketing and Sales teamactivities.

    Key responsibilities include :

  • Responsible for analysis and reporting of market, retailer and shopper data with tangible recommendations;
  • Assist the Category & Insights Manager with development of category and range reviews and customer joint business plans;
  • Assistance with analysis on pricing optimisation and improved promotional ROI;
  • Supporting the effective implementation of the Sales and Marketing planning and activation process; and
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing teams with relevant category and shopper trends and insights.

    You will be able to workautonomously and with an exceptional eye for detail in a fast-pacedenvironment.

  • Previous experience in category management and / or category analysis;
  • Proficiency in either Nielsen or IRi / Aztec market data software packages;
  • Strongly advanced capability in the use of Excel (modelling) and PowerPoint;
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, adaptability and a passion for continuous improvement;
  • A team player who is a demonstrated self-starter and confident working autonomously;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
  • FMCG experience and relevant tertiary qualification.
