Master Kong is looking for Commis / Junior Chefs to join the team!
Master Kong is fairly new to Wellington's waterfront, having opened back in early 2020. The Street Food culture of Asia’s bustling night markets is our food inspiration.
Think, East meets West! The cuisine takes classic street foods from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia & Thailand to create a menu which will take you on an explosive flavour journey of fusion!
Kāpura (previously known as the Wellington Hospitality Group) owns and operates Master Kong as well as over 30 bars and restaurants around the Wellington CBD, surrounding suburbs and most recently has expanded into Hamilton and Tauranga.

A Commis / Junior chef in time should become competent in all areas of the kitchen and be a strong multitasker. Someone who wishes to become a Junior Chef must have the ability to absorb a lot of information in a brief period time.
They should also be able to work extremely well under pressure and most importantly have a love for food.
Even though a Commis / Junior Chef is an entry-level position due to the nature of the kitchen they are as important....
