  • Labtests is the provider of pathology services to the greater Auckland region by way of our contract with the District Health Boards;
  • providing pathology services to the patients of GPs, Medical Specialists and midwives. This is predominantly done through our network of 58 collection centres and a state of the art laboratory in Mt Wellington.

    We are seeking a resilient Team Leader for our Logistics department, who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy medical courier service and stores warehouse located in Mount Wellington.

    This is a permanent full time role, working 80 hours per fortnight.

    Our Logistics team is crucial to our operations, and is primarily responsible for the dispatch and delivery of patient specimens from outgoing stores to and from our laboratories, blood collection rooms, medical centres, private hospitals and care facilities.

    Due to the critical nature of the cargo an efficient service is crucial.

    The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, proactive, comfortable stepping covering the Head of Department, and likes working as part of a team.

    You will be an accomplished store person or logistics professional, preferably with dispatch experience, who will add value operationally and commercially.

    Key attributes of the successful candidate :

  • Strong administrative skills especially, planning, time management and organisation skills
  • Have experience managing supplier relationships and contracts
  • Not be phased by a complex and busy dispatching system
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, enthuse and inspire others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact positively with a wide range of people and to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to also use these communication and interpersonal skills to coach and mentor others
  • Ability to apply a safety first approach to everything you do and encourage others to too
  • High levels of integrity, practiced judgement and discretion
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to think on your feet
  • Being a participating and contributing team player
  • Have a good understanding of the geographical area of Auckland
  • Tech savvy with a good grasp of Microsoft office (mainly Excel)
  • Dependent on experience we will be looking to appoint this role between $60,000 - $65,000. Please note we are only taking applications from those with the legal ability to work in New Zealand at this time.
