The Role

The Dunedin City Council Chair in Entrepreneurship will play a key role in managing the relationship with the City of Dunedin and local and regional businesses to assist in their development and overall economic growth.

The endowed Chair will also assume a professorial position in an academic department within the Business School and become the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, providing academic leadership of the Master of Entrepreneurship programme.

Skills and Experience

Reporting to the Dean, Otago Business School, the successful candidate will have :

  • A PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in research, teaching, curriculum development and professional activities.
  • Demonstrated research interest in regional development, value chain integrity, export businesses or other appropriate sectors of the entrepreneurship discipline.
  • A record of eminent scholarly research and publication with evidence of a substantial international reputation and an active research agenda.
  • Excellent collegial approach : pro-active and responsive in collaborative research and teaching, with an ability to be flexible, to facilitate maximum communal benefit.
