Our Role

As Senior Stakeholder Relationship Manager you will work in the Community Engagement and Partnerships Group within the East North Island region, designing and delivering professional engagement practices with communities and stakeholders, and building and managing exceptional strategic partnerships on behalf of the organisation.

As a senior member of the team, you will additionally take on some support and mentoring of others in the region. Although expected to operate at a strategic level, the role is hands-on and there is a strong focus on continued efficiency hence you will be expected to provide day to day support doing operational function when needed.

You will need to have great interpersonal and communication skills, and be passionate about achieving positive results for Kāinga Ora.

You'll also need to be able to utilise your political and strategic nous in helping the organisation to connect and collaborate well with strategic partners and communities.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Extensive relevant community engagement and development experience at a senior level
  • Hands on experience of operational and strategic management
  • The capability to create and maintain exceptional relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders and communities
  • Existing relationship and network within the region e.g. Iwi, Hapu, Local Government and community groups
  • A sound understanding of the machinery of Government
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strategic thinking and a growth mindset
  • A sound understanding of Te Ao Māori is essential for this role; fluency in Te Reo Māori is advantageous.
  • Preferably with professional engagement practice certification (IAP2)
