Summary
This position works directly under the supervision of the District Business Manager. Join our growing team in Kennametal as a Key Account Specialist to be based in New Zealand.
Key Job Responsibilities
Manage established End user and Channel Sales Partner relationships.
Expand sales in existing customers and distribution partners while actively looking for new customer generation.
Achieve sales targets and other KPIs as defined by the management.
Maintains intense market knowledge of competitors and market gaps.
Provide technical expertise on products (e.g., product lifecycle obsolescence), customer programs (e.g., product upgrades) and customer cost savings initiatives.
Visit End users and distribution partners from time to time.
Generate leads through cold calling, networking events, and follow-ups to successfully close business accounts.
Continuously improve current working knowledge of existing and new products and services.
Any other duties as assigned by the management.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates Required
Degree or Diploma in the technical discipline.
Preferably 5 - 10 years of sales experience in cutting tools / metal cutting products and exposure working in a technical manufacturing environment.
Highly strategic thinker and can work with multiple distributors.
Self-motivated, aggressive in pursuing objectives, and can work with minimum supervision.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Windows / Office environment.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
Learning agility, Ability to understand technical products, systems, and solutions.
Ability to assess customer needs competently.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills, the ability to work with different functions.
