Our Commercial Performance team sits within the Digital, Data and Insights group. We proactively manage the commercial and contract lifecycle as well as the commercial relationships with our key technology suppliers.

The Commercial Insights function helps provide MBIE with the transparency needed to make well-informed commercial decisions, providing value to our stakeholders while ensuring financial sustainability.

About the role

This is a newly established position and offers a real opportunity for the right person to have a big impact within our ICT business.

Working with our new, purpose-built ICT Insights Platform, you will generate and share meaningful insights to improve the way MBIE consumes technology services.

You will transform data into actionable insights for the business. You will develop a strategy and establish a small team to support this work.

About you

You will bring extensive knowledge of commercial management and be able to demonstrate your experience in developing a data strategy and building a programme of work to realise it.

You will have a high level of communication and relationship management skills and be comfortable working across all levels of the organisation.

In addition to this you will bring :

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Experience working with a range of analytical / business intelligence tools, including designing and implementing analytical solutions
  • Leadership experience
  • High-level influencing skills
  • An understanding of how to navigate complex and ambiguous environments, processes and governance structures
  • The ability to work effectively across a large, complex organisation
