About the role

The Intelligence function has a unique role to play in providing insight and foresight to support decision makers. As a Training Advisor you will work with a team whose role it is to enable Intelligence practitioners to achieve this.

Your role will involve the coordination, design, development and delivery of intelligence training to meet business needs across New Zealand Police and our Combined Law Agency Group (CLAG) partners.

You will learn how to manage this through problem-based and blended learning delivery, and learner centric programmes whilst ensuring evidence-based practice and maintaining focus on the transfer of learning.

Our team is a key part of continuous improvement, focused on developing capable, connected Intelligence practitioners equipped with the skills and knowledge to enhance decision making.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Coordinate and deliver existing Intelligence training
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of intelligence training in an adult learning environment
  • Assess and manage requirements of associated qualifications
  • Build and maintain a range of relationships including all parts of New Zealand Police Intelligence, the wider organisation and partner agencies
  • Actively seek and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that are evidence based, ensure content remains current and engage learners

  • experience applying the Intelligence Cycle to produce a variety of Intelligence products to meet different needs
  • a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with different audiences
  • an interest in supporting the development of other Intelligence practitioners
  • a continuous improvement mindset
  • A background in training design, development and delivery in the adult learning environment is preferred but not essential.

    For applicants without a suitable qualification in this field, you will be enrolled to complete a Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Training upon appointment.

    Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.

    This role is set at Team Leader / Manager level , this means your key purpose is to lead the activities for Our Business and enable people to deliver them.
