The role Are you looking for a fast paced role and a fantastic opportunity to work in the finance function of a major New Zealand bank?

Do you have a nous for numbers and can easily draw out insights and communicate this for internal and external audiences?

The role is responsible for the reporting of the financial performance of the Bank for internal and external purposes (including ASX and local media), competitor analysis, benchmarking (internal and external) and drawing out and reporting key insights.

In addition, being a key Finance contact for key stakeholders throughout the Bank relating to Finance information. There is also a significant ad-

hoc component to the role in supporting CFO / senior management. Key accountabilities

  • A key measure of this role is taking full ownership of all benchmarking activity (internal and external); competitor analysis;
  • monitoring our performance relative to our peers and in-depth knowledge of the relative results. Developing a deep understanding of Westpac and the NZ Banking market is critical, as is analysis of current market trends and effectively communicating these concisely to a wide range of internal audiences including senior management and the Board.

  • The role includes reporting of half and full year results for the ASX and local media as well as internal and external stakeholders (e.
  • g. ratings agencies, roadshows)

  • A large part of the role is also focussed on Regulatory Reporting - ownership, automation and process improvement including benchmarking and insights
  • This a fast paced role with a significant ad-hoc component in supporting the various requests from CFO / senior management within required timeframes
  • A knowledge of portfolio management and concepts is highly desirable.
  • What you need to succeed

  • Tertiary Finance or Accounting qualification
  • Extensive Financial Management experience 8 years +
  • Extensive understanding of Financial Services Industry and practice
  • Well rounded experience in Finance / Accounting functions combined with strong commercial experience and perspectives
  • Well versed in building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent influencing skills
