Communications Coordinator

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Communications Coordinator who wants to support a team that is at the forefront of population-scale engagement in a continually evolving and increasingly high profile kaupapa.

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner is Aotearoa New Zealand's privacy regulator an Independent Crown Entity established to promote and protect individual privacy.

The organization is passionate about encouraging and sustaining a culture in Aotearoa where people's personal information is protected and respected.

We are looking for someone who is keen to apply their excellent organizational skills and systematic thinking to enhance communications and engagement services by providing practical support for digital tools, publications, and events.

You'll be working with internal teams, external stakeholders, service providers and the public in this responsive and cooperative role.

Pragmatic and solution-focused, you will be joining a supportive and highly collaborative organization that has a strong focus on diversity and inclusion and is committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

In this role you will gain exposure into high profile, impactful projects that enhance the value New Zealanders place on their privacy rights and responsibilities.

As well as your experience as a detail-oriented and collaborative team member, you will have familiarity with effective use of digital tools as communications channels, allowing you to have sound judgement when managing content and liaising with the team.

This role will likely suit someone with around 0-2 years' experience in a communications or project support role who is looking to apply their skills in a new context and would enjoy the chance to diversify their experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A keen interest in privacy issues

  • An agile and outcomes focus, with a willingness to reprioritise and manage a range of tasks
