About the role
This is a great opportunity to join our CORE aiga and help us to make a difference to challenge inequity and create environments that will enable Pacific families, fānau and communities to thrive through learning.
Some key areas of responsibility will include :
Build CORE’s reputation and delivery of services to Kāhui Ako, Pacific settings and other environments focused on delivery to all Pacific learners in all contexts and settings.
Provide leadership in strategic thinking and planning for Pacific, in a way that supports staff to grow and enhance their cultural aspirations.
Engage new clients, identifying opportunities for CORE to support their needs.
Actively seek opportunities for CORE to engage in projects, in areas that support our mission and strategic direction, for the benefit of Pacific learners and their communities.
Support the strategic goals that empower CORE to build purposeful and effective resources for Pacific learners.
Developing and facilitating quality professional learning experiences as required across CORE courses and professional learning services : workshops, online courses and UChoose, Professional learning services direct to education, or corporate settings.
Commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, working in partnership and Te Aho Tapu
Commitment to modelling principles of Tātai Aho Rau and CORE’s values - manaakitanga, whānaungatanga, wairuatanga and kaitiakitanga
Skills and Experience
Thorough knowledge of future focused approaches to education, and trends in education for Pacific learners.
Great interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in at least one Pacific language and English.
Strategic planner ability to take ideas and convert to actions.
Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for project management and completion.
Excellent facilitation skills, people engagement skills and focused on building relationships, especially in Pacific communities.
Understanding and use of Pacific theories, models and concepts that support and enhance CORE’s practices.
Experienced at working with senior educators, school leaders and clients, in Pacific communities.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the use of technology to support teaching and learning.
The ability to work in a culturally responsive manner is a requirement. Knowledge of te reo Māori is desirable. The successful applicant will work within the company’s framework Tātai Aho Rau.
