Full time / Part time rostered shift
Manukau Surgery Centre (MSC) is a fabulous 'purpose built' facility providing the majority of CMDHB's elective surgery. The Manukau theatres run a busy schedule Monday to Friday with the two inpatient wards providing seven day a week surgical care, supported by a 4 bedded high level Perioperative Care Unit six days per week.
The Perioperative Care Unit (PCU) is a unique unit embedded within the 2nd floor of the Manukau Surgery Centre. It provides high level clinical support for the at-
risk or physiologically unstable patient during their post -operative stay. Dedicated anaesthetic and nursing teams provide 24 / 6 support for the unit, attend emergency call outs on site and accept patients from all specialties undergoing elective surgery at MSC.
The PCU will play a critical role in the future expansion of elective surgery at the Manukau Surgery Centre site.
The PCU supports MSC First and Second Floor with a predominately Orthopaedic and General Surgical focus. Other specialties include ORL, Gynaecology and Plastic Surgery.
PCU works with Patient Blood Management to optimise our elective surgery patients with iron deficiency anaemia.
We have opportunities for you to join a team of experienced nurses providing high quality / high dependency post-operative care to support a diverse range of patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures.
This is your chance to bring your outstanding clinical assessment, critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills to a role that you have been striving for.
