Your new opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a team of highly motivated professionals.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and skilled Project Manager and will be able to demonstrate expertise and an intimate understanding of NZS 3910 contracts, with a proven track record as either Engineer to Contract or Engineers Representative.

Ideally the candidate will also have a sound technical understanding of New Zealand construction practices and relevant legislation.

The qualifications and experience required for a Project Manager would include a construction or construction management related degree or diploma with a minimum of 5 years practical experience.

The candidate would also ideally hold PMI Project Management Professional Certification, but this is not essential.

Tasks & responsibilities

In this role, you would be primarily responsible for the provision of high-quality project management services to a range of clients including governmental, institutional, commercial and residential property owners and occupiers.

You will :

  • have 5+ years’ project management experience in the construction industry.
  • be experienced in leading and managing project teams.
  • develop and sustain productive client relationships to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • display competency at managing the design process, including development of client and architect support briefing.
  • exhibit professionalism and competence as Engineer to Contract and / or Engineers representative under NZS 3910 or any other NZ Building contracts.
  • evidently have experience of managing the Quality Assurance process including the completion of QA inspections across multiple projects and for the completion of reports documenting inspections.
  • possess a strong technical understanding of NZ Construction practice, methodologies, and relevant legislation.
  • demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • currently be an expert with MS Project, including ability to interrogate programmes to an expert standard.
  • ideally, be an elected professional member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner.
  • be open to travel out of town on an ad hoc basis or regularly spend a night or so per week / fortnight, to deliver project management services regionally within New Zealand.
