We are now seeking a HR Advisor to join our vibrant HR Team at SKYCITY Darwin.
The position is ideally suited for a person with tertiary qualifications, has had exposure in a Human Resources environment with 2+ years relevant workplace experience and with a keen interest for our profession.
You will have a strong people focus as well as excellent time management and organisational skills. Your outstanding communication skills enable you to form close working relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Strong computer skills and a key eye for detail are required. Previous experience working in Human Resources along with experience working with PeopleSoft HRIS as well as a background in the hospitality industry will be an advantage but is not essential.
In this role, you will collaboratively work with the entire HR Team and SKYCITY Darwin Managers, Supervisors and staff to provide proactive and best proactive HR advice, support and direction on a diverse range of HR issues.
Your duties will include but not limited to :
Provide accurate, timely and relevant advice, and direction to internal clients on a diverse range of issues including HR Policy and Procedure, Industrial Relations, Recruitment, Training, Staff Development, Performance Management and Organisational Reviews.
Participation in and ongoing development of employee relations initiatives.
Minimise business risk by ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies and procedures with reference to, but not limited to, the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), SKYCITY Darwin's EBA and Individual Contracts;
Undertake thorough investigations and disciplinary meeting when required with relevant managers and employees when allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment or any questionable behaviour arise.
Maintain the professional image of the Human Resource Department in all dealings with other departments and employees of the property and act as role models for standards of behaviour and grooming whilst at work.
Review validity and appropriateness of all records and systems;
Review and update all position descriptions as required;
Constantly review and update of all HR related documentation, including but not limited to, employee handbook, managers tool kit and notice boards;
Ensure effective communication with all employees and management to maintain ethical and transparent working relationships;
Assist the Human Resources Manager when required to draft any critical correspondence or other relevant documents;
Ensure data entry is up to date as required;
Have a sound understanding of the Collective Agreement, Awards, Acts and Legislation affecting the SKYCITY Darwin staff and Managers;
