The Psychiatric Service for Adults withIntellectual Disabilities (PSAID) Inpatient Unit, is a specialist mental healthservice based at Hillmorton Hospital that provides assessment and treatmentoptions tailored to the needs of intellectually disabled people.

RegisteredNurses work alongside other specialist staff in a multidisciplinary team, tocraft packages of care that enable consumers to learn new skills and waysof managing their illness so that they can return home, be part of theircommunity and lead a good life.

The Role : Where you fitin

The Intellectually Disabled PersonsHealth (IDPH) Service is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with mentalhealth experience, highly developed interpersonal skills and a commitment toexcellence, to work in our PSAID team : one on a full time, permanent basis, and another in a fixed term capacity (ending December 2021).

Ideally you will have experienceworking with Intellectual Disability, however candidates with an interest inthe area and motivation to learn new skills would also be considered.

You willneed a mental health scope of practice to be able to work in this field.

The service is after a registered nurses who are responsible, have mature attitudes, and someone who is open to learn anddevelop in what can be challenging work.

You will work both one-on-one withconsumers with complex needs, develop and support them in their treatmentplans, and participate and be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

These positions require a current fullNZ driver’s license.

  • There is one permanent, 0.94 FTE position
  • This a 0.94 FTE, fixed term position available, ending December 2021.
  • These roles encompass shift and weekend work.
