Clinical Nurse Manager Purpose : if you are passionate about community health and leading clinical teams to provide a high quality, client and whanau focused care then this dynamic role is for you.

We are looking for an experienced clinical manager to deliver excellence across multiple service contracts. The is a senior management role, and you would work alongside our Regional Manager for the Northland and Auckland DHB areas, and along with the overall leadership and management of all clinical staff, you will also provide oversight of the service provided to clients with complex care requirements.

Your ability to mentor both young, and experienced teams will be essential to drive clinical governance with your strong leadership skills, influence best practices and create a stable workforce.

You will be comfortable at DHB and governance levels, as the Clinical Nurse Manager is also responsible for fostering and managing strong and positive relationships with funders and referrers in the region and for providing input into national projects and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • To recruit, manage and lead the community nurses and other registered health professionals in the region
  • To maintain oversight of the competency profile of the clinical workforce in the region and to conduct training needs analysis and resulting training plans for clinical staff in their team
  • To ensure optimum workflows and staff resource management in the region
  • To oversee all clinical systems, processes and requirements for the region to ensure compliance with Access policies, procedures and practices
  • To manage all complaints, exception reporting and incidents and accidents occurring in the clinical areas of the business
  • To lead clinical audit functions for the region
  • To proactively develop and maintain positive relationships with funders, referrers and other key stakeholders in the region
  • To provide support and contribute to all aspects of clinical governance within Access
  • Person Specifications :

  • Registered Nurse with current Annual Practising Certificate and extensive leadership experience
  • Community Nursing experience of not less than 2 years
  • InterRAI training preferred but not essential
  • Full driver's licence
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, and data manipulation and reporting experience
  • A strong and confident leader at a senior level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing a business unit in a complex service delivery environment
  • Clinical staff assessment, mentoring and supervision experience
  • A highly organised individual with excellent time management skills
  • Embraces change and has demonstrated ability to implement clinical management and improvement initiatives through structured programmes and processes.
