About the role
Are you passionate about staff development? If so, this role may be the one for you.
We are looking for a COVID-19 educator to upskill staff working in COVID-19 workstreams including vaccination (main focus) and testing.
This role works primarily with both the COVID-19 response and vaccination teams to ensure staff are given the training needed for their roles.
You will be responsible for coaching and developing staff working across the WDHB and partners (when required).

The successful candidate will be part of a wider leadership team, including the clinical nurse manager, workforce lead, and vaccination programme and response managers.
You will have a minimum of three years' experience as a registered health professional and a teaching or preceptorship qualification.
In addition, you will be a fully authorised vaccinator.
COVID Vaccination requirements
Following the update to COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021, to be employed with Whanganui District Health Board you will be required to be fully vaccinated as a health care worker.
If you have already been vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of this to Occupational Health staff.
If you are not fully vaccinated you must make arrangements to undertake your first vaccination no later than 15 November 2021 and by fully vaccinated, as required by the order, by 1 January 2022.
