Our CRO team works together and provides cover for each other. We draw together all team members’ areas of expertise in creative ways to to challenge the business to bring about innovative, and commercially astute risk and compliance outcomes.
This role will support the Executive Manager to provide second line Risk Management across all the Suncorp New Zealand entities.
You will help grow risk maturity, act as a trusted advisor to the business in fulfilling its risk management obligations, and be an advocate for increasingly robust risk maturity and culture.
This role can be based out of either Auckland or Wellington
Key responsibilities :
Lead and participate in work to to ensure uplift, harmonisation and consistency in risk management approach and process across Suncorp New Zealand.
Help colleagues across the CRO team communicate our collective vision for risk management uplift within Suncorp New Zealand.
Lead oversight and challenge the identification, assessment and monitoring of all risks and obligations across the business.
Develop and implement solutions to uplift Suncorp New Zealand’s risk maturity.
Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate Risk policies, procedures and management frameworks for Suncorp NZ.
Support the business to assess and optimise risk within the broader context of the relevant Risk Appetite Statement and KRIs.
Develop strong relationships within the business so that risk representation, advice and input become essential when considering issues, opportunities, and initiatives.
What we are looking for :
Deep experience in legal, risk or compliance management in the financial or professional services sector
Demonstrated experience in a leadership / influencer role (either by influence or direct leadership of people)
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to non-subject matter experts
High level of attention to detail
Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, accounting, or law.
