About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Social Worker looking for part-time hours in a supportive team. Te Herenga Tangata is a large Interdisciplinary team which includes 3 other Social Workers, along with Allied Health Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Registered Nurses and the medical, Speech Language therapy and Dietetic staff who work with community clients.
In this Social Work role, you ll be working with clients / whānau as they recover or learn to live well with a wide range of health issues.
Using a strengths based and client centred approach you will support our clients and communities as they navigate the many social stressors that impact on well- being.
You will also use brief interventions to help people build the emotional and psychological resilience they need and link them to the practical resources they require.
We are working with people in challenging situations so are looking for an experienced Social Worker, who will draw on the support of colleagues and be willing to engage with complexity.
We are also in the process of re-developing many systems and processes in the wider team so need someone who is able to think critically and help us build new models that will ensure we are putting our energy into the things that will make a real difference for people.
Along with the support of your colleagues and Team leader, you will have Professional links to the Social Work Professional lead and access to supervision, internal and external training opportunities.
