We are currently seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance and Affordability Hub. This role will be responsible for providing best in class management accounting services as well as continuous improvement and positive change.

This role includes supporting the coordination of the Annual Plan, Long Term Plan, monthly management reports and operational financial management analysis.

In addition, this position provides project support and financial advice and analysis to all activities of Council. Council has $2b in assets, this position provides support to the Asset Accountant to ensure reporting and accounting standards are met.

Preferred Academic and Professional Skills :

  • CAANZ Chartered Accountant or other appropriate academic qualification
  • 3 years’ experience in Local Government Finance and Procedures and / or experience within a business partnering environment
  • Experience in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and Public Benefit Entity (PBE) reporting requirements
  • Candidates must have a basic knowledge of working with tangata whenua as a prerequisite for this role or at least a willingness to learn.
