The Bay of Plenty Clinical Trials Unit undertakes clinical trials in a range of specialities for the Bay of Plenty District Health Board (BOPDHB).

A fixed term position is available for an experienced NZ Registered Nurse to work as a Research Nurse within the Clinical Trials Unit.

Previous clinical trial experience and oncology / haematology nursing experience would be an advantage.The position is full time (40 hours per week), however part-time / job share may be considered for the right candidate(s).

This is a 12-month fixed term position to cover parental leave.The successful applicant will work in a team of Research Nurses, whose role is to coordinate clinical research activities from the feasibility stage of a trial to close out, inclusive of administrative and nursing tasks.

You will work closely with DHB clinical services, research sponsors and external vendors as well as with patients. Key requirements are :

  • A current NZ nursing practising certificate
  • Patient focused
  • Significant clinical experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong IT literacy and administrative skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated
  • Flexible, well organised and able to prioritise workload
