Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.About the roleStantec is seeking an individual to support and coordinate the implementation of Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) program within New Zealand.

The position will be based out of our Auckland office in New Zealand, reporting directly to the ANZ HSSE Manager.Day to day tasks would involve : tSupport operations and office staff to implement Stantec’s HSSE program and systems as well as local New Zealand legislation requirementstAssist with project pre-job HSSE tendering, planning, and hazard assessmentstConduct project HSSE assessments, audits, planned job observations and worksite inspections with leadership (which may require overnight travel & site visits)tPromote HSSE and our Safer Together initiative, with the goal of continuous improvement of our HSSE culturetProvide support and HSSE advice & direction to Office Safety and Environment Coordinators (OSECs), Health & Safety Representatives and operational / office stafftSupport the HSSE Incident Management System within the regionotSupport incoming incident reports, ensuring follow-up is completed and documented as requiredotConduct investigations as required under the direction of the HSSE ManagerotAssist in the development of lessons learned and corrective actions in conjunction with responsible managers.

tSupport the subcontractor management program HSSE aspectstAssist with the Regional ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System), OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) certification managementtOrganise events to promote Health and Safety (e.

g. Lunch and Learns.)tContribute to business development activities, and proposal inputs, as required.Title : Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Advisor - New ZealandQualifications : To be successful for this role you'll need : tA degree, diploma or certificate in Occupational / Work Health and Safety in a related fieldt5 10 years of relevant field work experience in an HSSE roletMembership of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management or a relevant professional associationtICAM or Root Cause Investigations qualification and experiencetAudit training and experiencetKnowledge of New Zealand Workplace / Occupational Health and Safety legislationtStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities, coupled with an ability to work in a team atmospheretStrong leadership skills and the capability to assess priorities and work independentlytComputer proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
