To provide leadership and management for the Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Team who have a focus across the greater Wellington region.
Leading this diverse team to continue to grow and contribute to Government and District Health Board priorities. Working with the Manager Service Delivery, Team Leaders and other members of the Health Promotion Cluster to provide leadership.

Our team is made up of passionate public health advisors who work across the issues of tobacco, alcohol and drugs. We adopt a broad approach using regulatory and promotional activities to raise awareness of alcohol issues, promote and support effective alcohol policies and seek to improve accountability in alcohol retailing.
We focus on tobacco and vaping in many areas including legislation enforcement, supporting Smokefree / vape free policies and supporting quit facilitation for smokers.
Our CAYAD team uses a community action approach, a strategy for creating community-based change towards specific social and environmental policy objectives at a national and community level.

About Regional Public Health
Regional Public Health (RPH) is one of the three larger public health units in New Zealand and as such often takes on a national leadership role.
RPH provides public health services to the greater Wellington region, including Wairarapa (population of approximately 521,500).
Emphasis is placed on leadership, teamwork, the wider determinants of health and the reduction of health inequalities, Maori health, Pacific Peoples health and other vulnerable groups including young people.
This team has both a health promotion and regulatory focus on tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
