The job :

The purpose of the Maintenance Electrician role is to implement electrical maintenance activities across the DGC manufacturing assets ensuring plant reliability and efficiency.

This will require the undertaking of preventative and reactive maintenance as well as contributing to root cause analysis and improvement projects.

The role will take a central position in undertaking electrical maintenance activities and ensure that work is appropriately resourced, providing feedback to the Electrical Lead and scheduling team.

Core activities will focus on implementing the electrical maintenance program for annual shuts and scheduled maintenance, working closely with the Maintenance Schedulers and Electrical Lead to ensure priorities are maintained.

The Maintenance Electrician will closely integrate with manufacturing teams to resolve plant issues ensuring exceptional reliability.

The Maintenance Electrician position will take responsibility for growing organisational knowledge and understanding of the electrical systems and ensuring maintenance tasks are performed accurately and to schedule.

On a day to day basis you will undertake maintenance activities to ensure reliability of all DGC plants and facilities by :

Carrying out preventive maintenance checks and the associated corrective actions

Responding to reactive maintenance needs as required in a timely manner

Proactively identifying and troubleshooting plant electrical and instrumentation issues

Completing necessary documentation, including timesheets and work reports

Participating in on call roster and attending to breakdowns after hours where required

Integrating with manufacturing teams to deliver reliability including training DGC staff to ensure appropriate operation of installed equipment

Work collaboratively with various contractors to implement maintenance and where necessary project related works

The person :

Qualifications required for the position

Electrical trade certification & NZ practicing license

Optional : Advanced trade qualification

Optional : NZCE - Electrical Engineering

Optional : IMCT certification

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Strong industrial electrical background

Experience within a food manufacturing environment preferred but not essential

Intermediate level skills using Microsoft Office suite

Appreciation and knowledge of quality systems compliance

People & project coordination skills

Developed communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and working to a high standard

Ability to prioritise for self and others

Excellent problem-solving skills
