Sitting as a directorate of the Auckland DHB, Starship Child Health is our dedicated paediatric healthcare service, major teaching centre, and centre of research excellence providing whānau-centred care to children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Starship is research active across the majority of clinical specialties and with a focus on improving patient outcomes by offering access to new medicines, technologies and processes.
Our commitment is to design and deliver high quality clinical research studies where outcomes can be quickly translated into new diagnoses, treatments and cures.
We are a part of the Auckland Health Alliance working in collaboration with the University of Auckland to further strengthen a translational programme of research.
Due to growth in our research portfolio of studies, we are now expanding a range of clinical research operations functions to directly support and enable Investigator-Initiated Trials, to work with industry and grow our commercial trial activity.
The Clinical Research Practitioner will work within and across multiple Starship research teams providing recruitment support and guidance.
The role requires in-depth knowledge of the NZ research governance, regulatory and funding environment, with the ability to translate knowledge into clear guidance and sign posting as part of research delivery.
As the Clinical Research Practitioner you will directly support commercial trial activity working with CRO's and CRA's at study start and throughout recruitment, monitoring and close out.
This role requires autonomous working within teams in identifying barriers to recruitment and implementing remedial actions with a focus on delivering studies time to target.
