Ziman House, Reefton Health Services’ 12-bed aged carefacility, is a beloved and treasured part of the community. It closed early in2022 for an overhaul of its environment and management structure, but the DHBand the people are eager to see it reopen.
First, however, we need a ClinicalManager.
Based in Reefton, you’ll be responsible for Ziman House, andall that comes with running an aged care residential facility.
You’ll lead ateam of around 10 direct reports, both nurses and health care assistants,ensuring that our residents and their whanau receive exceptional levels ofcare.
You’ll also take onresponsibility for Home & Community Services in Reefton, providing anintegrated approach to older persons care in the area.
Across all aspects ofthe role, you’ll benefit from close working relationships with the leadershipof the primary and community team in Reefton.
The West Coast District Health Board covers a widegeographic area, covering mainly small, remote towns. With that in mind, you’llfind it’s more actively involved in primary health care than many other DHBsyou may have experienced.
We’ve been able to integrate traditional GP serviceswith community services, and sometimes inpatient care, building trulyinterdisciplinary teams that ensure our people get the full range ofhealthcare.

You’ll bring a clinical nursing background, probably in agedresidential care, and a desire for your mahi to really matter.
While ZimanHouse has 12 beds, we expect seven to be full when we reopen as we build thefacility’s capability back up. That means you’ll be working with a maximumratio of 1 : 12, which means plenty of time to spend getting to know theresidents and their whanau.
