Waikato District Health Board provides health services in the Waikato region to a combined population of over 400,000 people, and tertiary-level services to the midland region, with a population of over 840,000.

Reporting to the Operations Director Community & Rural Health, your role is to manage the day-to-day operations of your Service to ensure safe, high quality and effective health care within allocated resources to your division / directorate.

You are accountable for the operational planning, delivery, and monitoring, of performance of your area. You will achieve this through working in partnership with the professional leaders across the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health, scientific & technical disciplines in your division to foster a strong inter-professional team that deliver high standards of patient care within a healthy and positive team environment.

You will be required to utilise the partnerships and your leadership skills to develop and foster a positive and healthy organisational culture ensuring a resilient division.

Critical requirements for these positions are strong and functional relationships with Iwi, Maori, Pacific (particularly for the Southern Rural Health Services) and the wider community.

Local government relationships are also an area of strong commitment.

The success of these two positions involves working closely with your clinical partners to foster strong inter-professional teams that all work collaboratively to provide safe, high quality and effective health care within allocated resources.

To be considered for the role you will have as a minimum :

  • 5 7 years’ experience in operational and strategic health leadership role
  • Consistent achievements within a complex health related environment
  • Commercial business acumen and financial management across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to negotiate, resolve conflict and positively influence and motivate others
  • Demonstrated success in Iwi, whānau, hapū, Pacific relationships and community development
