    Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role

    Construction & Innovation - The Construction and Innovation Group supports Kāinga Ora to grow its public and supported housing portfolio through the design and development of high quality homes that meet the needs of the community now and in the future, and by driving innovation across the construction sector.

    The Relationship Manager is accountable for building, managing and maintaining external partner relationships to enhance reach, quality and alignment with our construction partners.

    The role works proactively with our external construction partners on a key account basis to promote communication between the partner and Kāinga Ora, ensuring Kāinga Ora's understanding of partner capabilities and suitability, and to improve the overall partner experience in working with Kāinga Ora.

    The role works with our internal stakeholders to support alignment of Kāinga Ora build intentions with market / commercial expectations.

    Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership
  • Proven ability to engage and influence at both the operational and Executive level
  • Proven key account management skills
  • Knowledge of key stakeholders / suppliers both within and outside Kāinga Ora and their interests and needs - advantageous but not essential
  • Collaborative and able to create visible value within the organisation
  • Relevant degree or equivalent with significant related experience in one or more of the following - account management, project management, procurement, strategic supplier and stakeholder management
  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills with an ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Windows environment
